Viewers as unique as their lived realities

Everyone reads media differently. BIRD’s Feminist Framework centres marginalised viewers and intersecting identities, bringing in voices from scholars to rural audiences, bringing out media literacy , and sharing what we learn with, so that gender representation becomes a conversation for everyone.

And we are bringing the tool here live!

Women who consume FTA (Free-To-Air) television are not passive recipients of whatever narrative is handed to them. They negotiate, resist, and reinterpret. They notice things. They have opinions. They have, in many cases, already developed an instinctive feminist analysis. They simply haven’t had access to a space that validates it, structures it, or takes it seriously.
