Indian OTT Platforms and the Accessibility Gap in their Content:

  • 23 out of 26 leading OTT platforms do not have accessibility features like same language captions or audio description for their content

  • The remaining 3 platforms (of which JioHotstar is the most watched OTT in India, followed by Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, both global OTT players) are only minimally accessible

  • Existing accessibility features are mostly in English, even for content in Indian languages
  • Tens of millions of Indians excluded from OTT revolution
